How to Evaluate Bulk Ceremonial Matcha Samples

Learn how to evaluate bulk ceremonial matcha samples using coded tastings, fixed recipes and a retained reference before a larger commercial order.

Direct answer

To evaluate bulk ceremonial matcha samples, code each sample, use one recorded water preparation, assess it against predefined criteria and keep the result linked to the product reference. Add a separate commercial-recipe test where needed before approving a bulk purchase.

Prepare the test before opening the samples

Assign sample codes and keep the supplier identities separate from the tasting worksheet where practical. Record receipt date and the sample identifiers supplied. Decide which criteria matter to the target application before seeing the results.

For H2 Green's Ceremonial grade, a water-based evaluation reflects the direct-drinking position in its literature. A latte or another commercial use requires its own recipe test.

Use a worksheet that records conditions

Worksheet fieldWhat the evaluator records
Sample referenceCode and offered product identity
PreparationPowder, liquid, temperature and mixing method
AppearanceDry and prepared observations under stated lighting
Aroma and tasteSpecific notes in the chosen preparation
TextureMouthfeel and particle perception
DecisionMeets criterion, needs review or does not meet criterion

This is a blank evaluation structure. It contains no claimed tasting results or scores for H2 Green.

Keep a recipe change visible

If a sample requires a different dose or preparation method, record the change and run a separate test. A revised recipe may be useful, but it should not be presented as the result of the original comparison.

Repeat the relevant preparation to check whether the team can reproduce its observation. Where several people evaluate, have them write notes before discussing a shared conclusion.

Connect approval to the product that would be ordered

Ask which product code and specification apply to the commercial supply. Keep the test record and reference material under your quality team's process. A small sample cannot establish the outcome of every future batch, so agree the acceptance conditions separately.

H2 Green's current matcha MOQ is 200 kg. Send the application, expected order quantity, destination and sample-test requirements when discussing an evaluation. Sample amount, charges and shipment arrangements require confirmation for the actual request.

Buyer questions

Should all samples be evaluated at different doses immediately?

Begin with a controlled comparison. Record dose adjustments as separate recipe tests so results remain interpretable.

Does sample approval guarantee every future lot is identical?

No such guarantee is made. Connect sample approval to the agreed specification and future acceptance process.

Discuss your Ceremonial matcha requirement
