Matcha sourcingHow to source wholesale matcha from Vietnam
Importers should select matcha by its intended application, verified specification and repeatable supply conditions. Use this seven-step process before committing to a bulk order.
To source wholesale matcha from Vietnam, define the end use and target market, request matching product options, compare coded samples in one recipe, review the SKU documents, calculate cost per serving, agree the written specification and packing, then confirm commercial and shipment terms.
1. Define the application before requesting a price
Tell the supplier whether the matcha will be used in a plain drink, milk-based beverage, bakery product, confectionery or dessert. Include the destination market, expected first order and preferred bulk pack. These details narrow the product options and make quotations comparable.
2. Ask what the product actually is
Confirm the ingredient declaration, product code and manufacturer. Matcha is finely milled tea leaf and behaves differently from an instant tea extract. If dissolution is essential, compare the two ingredient types before ordering.
3. Compare coded samples in the same recipe
Use the same grams per serving, liquid volume, temperature and mixing method. Record colour, aroma, flavour, texture and sediment in the finished application. Keep the product code and sample batch reference with every result.
4. Review documents for the selected SKU
| Product specification | Check ingredient declaration, storage, shelf life and the product identity. |
|---|---|
| Certificate of analysis | Ask which results apply to the sample or production batch and when they were tested. |
| Factory certificates | Verify the certificate holder, scope and validity; do not assume every certificate covers every product. |
| Destination requirements | Tell the supplier the target country and any customer-specific parameters before testing or production. |
5. Calculate cost in use
Compare the powder cost per serving, not only the price per kilogram. The basic calculation is: price per kg ÷ 1,000 × grams used per serving. Add freight, duties, other ingredients and processing costs separately.
6. Agree the repeat-order standard
Write down the accepted product code, specification, packing, batch identification, remaining shelf life at dispatch and any agreed acceptance criteria. This gives both parties a reference for the first order and later reorders.
7. Confirm commercial and shipment terms
Before payment, confirm MOQ, unit price, sample or pre-shipment approval, lead time, Incoterm, payment terms, carton details and required shipment documents. H2 Green coordinates the enquiry, quotation and export process with its production partner in Vietnam.
