How to evaluate a plant powder supplier in Vietnam

Fruit, vegetable and herb powders can differ in composition, process, application and documentation. Start with the product identity and the result required by your customer.

Direct answer

Evaluate a Vietnamese plant powder supplier by checking the exact product and manufacturer, ingredient declaration, process description, application sample, specification, test documents, MOQ, bulk packing, lead time, export terms and repeat-order controls.

Start with product identity

“Plant powder” can mean ground whole material, a dried extract or another processed ingredient. Ask what part of the plant is used, whether the product is a powder or extract, and whether carriers or other ingredients are present.

Match the sample to the buyer’s application

BeverageMixing, flavour, colour, sediment and stability during service.
Bakery or confectioneryPerformance after processing, dosage and effect on texture.
Supplement or functional foodComposition, specification and destination-specific requirements.
Cosmetic formulationSuitability for the intended use and the buyer’s required technical documentation.

Check evidence product by product

Request the current specification and ask which certificate or test result applies to the exact SKU. Verify the name of the certificate holder, scope and expiry date. Do not treat a factory-level certificate as proof of every product claim.

Confirm the first order in writing

  • Product name, code and accepted sample reference.
  • Composition and agreed quality parameters.
  • MOQ, net weight, bulk pack and carton details.
  • Lead time and remaining shelf life at dispatch.
  • Required batch and shipment documents.
  • Payment, Incoterm and destination.

Plan for reorders

Ask how each batch is identified, which details remain fixed, and how changes will be communicated. A useful supplier relationship should make the approved product easier to reorder with the same written requirements.
